The Animated Series' Showrunner Has Seen Fans' Season 2 Bingo Cards — With Some Positive Updates

The highly-awaited second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel debuts on Prime Video this week, and fan speculation has been rampant.

The first season presents a diverse group of personalities residing in Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds accompanied by musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and builds heated competitions and emotional bonds that fuel audience devotion.

The community's expectations for season 2 vary widely, but certain themes emerge over and over: Will a fan-favorite character escape his tormentor? Will we find out more about the binding agreement constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Naturally, I don't make the show with fan service specifically in mind," the showrunner commented earlier this year. "However I feel like me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She reveals her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have received approval by the production companies, which produce the series.

That might mean fans have to wait years for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how fast season 2 progresses, and how much of what they're waiting for happens now.

"I feel like people are going to get a lot out of it," the creator notes. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some really amazing disclosures, some really cool origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the previously silent cast members."

She's certainly aware of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season — especially in the form of fan bingo cards.

"I've seen a couple people create a prediction grid about season 2," she says. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've already completed some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 launches on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
