Since the launch of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of characters, and a exciting storyline featuring divine entities, fiends, and dark forces growing in power within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Revealing details for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 lie ahead.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
The latest chapter finished on a dramatic pause and presented the first table of adventurers who will separate from the primary party to embark on their own adventure, apart from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table includes the determined fighter (portrayed by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (the actor).
The Reason for Division
With 13 cast members, it was evident from the beginning that keeping everyone at a single group would be impossible.
This explains, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Prelude, intertwining the individual narratives before dividing into three separate parties: Warriors, Strategists, and Questers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
As described by the DM, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who are drawn to a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven narrative style where diplomatic options are rare.
Initially, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might seem out of place, but the actions of episode 3 make it clear why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the party has a clear idea where to proceed after a intense opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose death initiated the campaign’s events—exploited the foes for his own means, invading Thjazi’s hideout, striking the character, and stealing all the magical artifacts to sell off.
Casimir then paid off his obligations and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the urban center, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each adventurer has a personal reason to depart the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, seeks vengeance.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in Timmony and warns that it is a nasty place.
- The strong character and The healer, having disobeyed his house’s orders to eliminate the fighter and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their status as prominent individuals in House Halovar could assist the team access locations they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character pledged a life debt to The savior for his deliverance and will now accompany him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are sought by the authorities that govern the city for a range of causes, making lingering locally dangerous:
- Thimble and The character are known criminals.
- The warrior and The healer defied the powerful family and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- Teor is marked for death by House Halovar.
This leaves them few options but to journey toward the northern region in search of the antagonist.
